Eight broad Big Things list and directory pages were scanned; 72 extracted listings survived the two-source rule, consolidating to 59 distinct attractions across every state and territory. Of these, 32 have trustworthy coordinates and form the mapped route below; 27 remain inventory-only because their geocode was missing or landed in the wrong town. There is no official Big Things registry — this is a reproducible two-source intersection, not a claim of completeness.

Source scan. Eight broad list/directory pages were scanned. An attraction qualified only when its name and locality matched, after normalisation of leading articles and capitalisation, on at least two distinct source URLs.
Consolidation. Naming variants (Big Banana / The Big Banana and similar) were merged only when name, locality and state made them unmistakably one attraction; same-named attractions in different towns were kept separate. That reduces 72 extracted rows to 59 attractions.
Coordinates. Geocoding used locality centres where exact attraction coordinates were unavailable. 41 geocoded rows were produced; after removing duplicates and suppressing seven known bad geocodes (Big Axe at Kew, Big Potato at Robertson, Big Mandarin at Mundubbera, Big Penguin at Penguin, BIG Lobster at Kingston, BIG Scotsman at Adelaide, Big Mango at Bowen), 32 points remain. Those seven and every ungeocoded entry stay in the inventory marked “not mapped — coordinate unresolved”.
Route. The line is an approximate shortest geographic route: an open path computed from coordinates (nearest-neighbour with 2-opt refinement), about 11,036 km of great-circle distance. Straight segments do not imply roads, ferries or legal access; Tasmania requires a sea crossing; it is not driving directions, and it does not cover unmapped inventory entries.
