“What founders were linked to the most new companies in the Baltimore metro area over the last 20 years.”
A live-web scan of Baltimore–Columbia–Towson startup directories, local reporting, biographies, and university pages surfaced 40 named founders of companies launched between September 2006 and September 2026. Seven founders in the primary ranking — plus one from a second serial-founder pass — were each linked to two distinct companies; the other 33 to one each.
| Founder | Companies | Count | Source |

Method: web-observational scan, not a Secretary of State incorporation census. Primary ranking: 40 founder rows (founder, distinct company count, companies, source URLs); supplemental serial-founder pass: 19 rows with stated founding years and organization types; plus 50 source-level descriptions used for methodology checks. “Linked” means a source named the person founder or co-founder and tied the organization to the Baltimore–Columbia–Towson metro; “new” means launched 2006-09-01 to 2026-09-01. Counts are distinct named companies — not funding rounds, investments, subsidiaries, events, or jobs. Some sources omit founding years or use “founder” loosely, so treat the tie as the observed co-leading group, not a definitive ranking. Kevin Liles was excluded because his two companies were not shown to be Baltimore-metro; David Troy’s seven-organization count mixes companies with non-company organizations and was not used. One-company founders are not exhaustively ranked.
