Coverage audit · producer counts unresolved
Nine countries resolved to geography — zero producer counts verified, so no ranking exists yet
A census of unique road-legal car builders per sovereign state (193 UN members plus Palestine and Vatican City) was requested, one country search at a time. The run completed geography normalization for 9 countries — name, ISO-2 code, centroid coordinates, source — and no more. Every producer-count field remains unresolved for all 195 in-scope states.
Read the map carefully. Green marks mean only that a country's geography record was normalized. They say nothing about how many car builders exist there. Grey means no resolved record — it is not evidence of zero producers. No defensible cross-country comparison can be made from this run.

What the visual cannot say alone
Coverage stops at roughly 4.6% of scope: 9 of 195 sovereign states have a normalized geography row, and the resolved set is dominated by names beginning with A or U — a signature of an alphabetical crawl that halted early, not of any substantive selection. Source lists:
github.com and
github.com.
Five of the nine rows were drawn from one country list —
github.com — and four from another —
github.com — so even the resolved geography mixes two upstream references that would need reconciliation before a full census.
One resolved row, Aruba, is a constituent country of the Netherlands rather than a UN member state, so it sits outside the stated scope of 193 UN members plus Palestine and Vatican City and would be excluded or reattributed in a completed census. Row source:
github.com.
No producer, marque, or builder entity was successfully counted for any country in this run — including the resolved nine — so this page publishes zero producer numbers by design rather than estimate any. List sources:
github.com,
github.com.

What a valid completion requires
- A country-by-country search for manufacturers and builders of road-legal cars, run separately for each of the 195 sovereign states in scope.
- Entity normalization across alternate names, trading names, and parent/subsidiary relationships, so each unique builder is counted once in its home country — not once per marque, model, importer, or dealer.
- Road-legality verification for one-off and low-volume models, excluding race-only constructors and non-road-legal prototypes.
Method: coverage audit of one research run. Data is the run's only successfully normalized output — 9 geography rows (country name, ISO-2, centroid latitude/longitude, upstream country-list URL). A row measures geography resolution only; no producer-count field was resolved for any country and none is shown. Scope for the intended census: 193 UN member states plus Palestine and Vatican City, producers counted by home country and unique builder entity. Cut for space: nothing — all 9 rows appear above.
