This rebuild puts Layoffs.fyi front and centre: a live headline from the tracker, plus 143 deduplicated layoff events extracted from Layoffs.fyi company pages covering 119 companies (January 2025 – July 2026). Events reporting only a percentage are kept in the table but excluded from headcount sums. Column positions are company HQ / tracker locations — not necessarily where affected staff worked. A separate, non-exhaustive green hiring layer (39 public announcements, not from Layoffs.fyi) is available as a toggle for context.

Method: layoff events extracted from Layoffs.fyi company profile pages (145 rows, 2 exact duplicates removed → 143 events, 119 companies; 37 profile pages directly indexed), captured 2026-06-09 with later events present up to July 2026. Headline cards use the live Layoffs.fyi homepage as of 2026-09-02: 115,430 employees, 152 companies; duplicate snapshots not summed. Data from Layoffs.fyi — free to use with attribution. Layoffs.fyi is crowdsourced/media-sourced and has tracked tech layoffs since 2020; counts can be revised; extraction leaves some fields blank (country, industry mostly empty; 10 events undated). Locations are company HQ / tracker locations, not layoff sites; 41 of 143 events had a mappable location. Percentage-only events (46) are excluded from all headcount sums. The green hiring layer is selected public hiring announcements from separate research (39 mapped events, 47,379 jobs, 34 companies, 29 locations) — contextual only, not from Layoffs.fyi and not comparable to its totals.
