Research through 3 Sep 2026 found six comparable public snapshots, 2018–2026: insurer claim counts (AAMI, RACV), one state incident register (Wildlife Victoria) and one peer-reviewed citizen-science roadkill sample. None records confirmed kangaroo deaths nationally, and none publishes a split by vehicle brand or maker. The snapshots overlap in time and coverage and must not be summed.

AAMI's 2024 animal-strike analysis named five models as most commonly involved — for all animal strikes, not kangaroos alone, with no per-model or per-brand counts published and no animal deaths established. Method: live web research through 3 Sep 2026; broad searches scanned over 1,100 unique initial results and a second source-focused search returned over 1,600 unique results (pools overlap). Six high-value source snapshots and 15 model mentions (deduplicating to five models across three pages) were extracted. Counts measure insurance claims, reported hit-by-vehicle incidents, or photographed roadkill — none is a national kangaroo death toll, none is split by car maker, and the figures overlap so they are never summed here. RACV suburb-level claim rows were cut for space.
