U.S. IKEA access points · state-by-state discovery · broader 169-location scope

State-by-state searches validate 96 of the 169 U.S. IKEA access points — and exactly 61 of them are shopping-format stores

Explicit official-page searches for all 50 states plus DC surfaced open IKEA location pages in 29 states and DC: 61 full, city and small-format stores plus 35 plan-and-order points and IKEA-at-Best-Buy sites. The 61-store subtotal matches the narrower "61 IKEA-operated locations" count independently reported in 2026 — the broader 169-location universe adds pickup and collection points, none of which exposed a dedicated open page, leaving 73 of 169 unresolved. Thirteen validated locations have exact public coordinates; the Voronoi map below is built on those thirteen only.

Each cell is the region closer to its point than to any other mapped point, in straight-line distance, clipped to U.S. land. Only the 13 locations with published exact coordinates are drawn; the other 83 validated locations have full street addresses but no public coordinates, so no approximate positions were fabricated. What the map cannot say alone

The 61 validated shopping-format stores equal the 61 verified U.S. IKEA locations independently reported by crehq.com (verified May 24, 2026, 100% geocoded) — evidence that 61 measures the shopping footprint, while 169 measures customer access points including pickup.
No pickup-only location could be validated: every dedicated pick-up page found — Albuquerque, New Orleans, Nashville and Pittsburgh — returned only the generic store-finder page, for example ikea.com. Those undocumented pickup and collection points account for most of the 73 unresolved locations.
The planning network is shrinking: IKEA announced closures effective August 30, 2026 for the plan-and-order points at Katy, TX, Austin-Domain, TX and South Charlotte, NC — all still counted here while open.
The footprint is also moving: Memphis, TN is permanently closed (excluded), SoHo, NY opens Fall 2026 (excluded as not yet open), and the Florence, KY plan-and-order point is opening soon (counted).

Reconciliation: the requested universe is 169 customer-access locations. Strict deduplication of the state-by-state searches yields 96 validated points, so this report headlines 96 of 169, not 169. The remaining 73 are consistent with pickup/collection-only locations, which IKEA's site does not expose as open standalone pages — the four pick-up URLs discovered all redirect to the generic finder. Nothing here contradicts the narrower 61-location shopping count independently attested at crehq.com; the two figures answer different questions.

All 50 states and DC

Validated open locations per state from the state-named searches. Stores = full, city and small-format; planning = plan-and-order points and IKEA-at-Best-Buy; pickup = validated pickup/collection-only pages (none found). Mapped = points with exact public coordinates. States with no validated page show zero and stay in the table.
