Data completeness
What is filled in and what is blank. Of 2,126 records: 65 carry a founding date or year, 32 an ownership attribute, 6 a certification, 59 a specialty note. These fields come from supplemental pages (blog features, city guides) linked in the Sources column; a blank cell means no statement was discoverable in the scanned pages, not that the roaster lacks the attribute. Positions are city/state text only — the directory publishes no street coordinates, so no address or date was invented.
Method: each of the 51 Roast Local state directories (50 states + Washington, DC) was queried separately on 2026-08-31 and the listings normalized into 2,126 unique roaster-state records; 48 directories returned rows (Delaware, Texas and DC returned none). A record is one roaster listed on one state page; counts per state are the source's distinct listing counts. Founding dates (65), ownership (32) and certifications (6) come from supplemental Roast Local pages and one external article, cited per row. Map precision is city/state; the source exposes no coordinates. The source homepage claims 4,800+ roasters across the US and Canada — a broader universe than this state-page extraction. Long specialty notes are truncated in the table for space.
