A state-by-state web census run on 2026-08-27 across all 50 states and the District of Columbia identified 6,927 normalized candidate companies described as roasting coffee. These are web-discovered roasters, not an official licensing registry: small or new roasters with little web presence may be absent, and directory or search false positives can remain. This page renders the excerpt of the dataset that fits here — 1,474 company rows covering nine states and DC, from Alabama to Florida — with each state's precomputed full-census counts.
Location caution: most records had no source-provided coordinates. Those points were assigned lightly jittered approximate state-centroid display positions solely to visualize state membership — they are not street locations. Every point in this excerpt is an approximate centroid point.
States shaded by their precomputed full-census roaster count; dots are individual web-discovered roasters from the excerpt, drawn at jittered state-centroid positions. Hover a dot or a state for detail.
One distinct metric pair per state, taken from the precomputed fields that repeat on rows; not summed or re-derived.
A curated selection of the excerpt's company rows — those with founding dates, founders, attributes, or the highest source-mention counts per state. Blank means the searched pages did not resolve the attribute. Company names link to websites when found; the source column links the auditing evidence page.

Method: state-by-state web queries run 2026-08-27 in four geographic batches across all 50 states plus DC; companies described as roasting coffee were extracted semantically, kept only when the extracted state matched the queried state, and duplicate brand spellings were normalized to 6,927 candidates, of which 5,000 rows were emitted under the platform's display cap. Of those 5,000, only the first 1,474 rows (Alabama–Florida, nine states plus DC) fit in this render; the table above further curates ~90 of them for space, favoring rows with founding dates, founders, attributes, or high mention counts. "Roasters found in state" and "founding dates found in state" are precomputed across the full candidate set and shown once per state. All map points here are jittered state-centroid display positions, not street locations. This is a web-discovered census, not an exhaustive official list.
